Siúl go dtí Seasca Dó
In keeping with my tradition and to celebrate my birthday, I’ll be walking 62km, 1km for every year of my life on Saturday, April 26th.
This year, I’m hoping to raise €62,000 to help complete our new creamery in Rusizi, Rwanda.
The creamery is at the final stages of completion. This will be Bóthar’s 4th creamery in Africa. The first three are in Malawi, Uganda and Zambia and I can tell you, that creameries are an important part of providing sustainable futures for the recipient families who have received an Irish dairy cow. Creameries become the lifeblood of the local community and start a positive economic cycle of growth.
Do you think you will be able to support me?
Don’t worry if you can’t walk with me, you can still support me and help get this creamery up and running by making a donation.
The walk will commence at 7am sharp from the University of Limerick, wind its way out to the picturesque village of Killaloe and return through the winding hills of County Clare, finishing where we started at the University. I am enclosing details and a route map for your information.
If you’d like to walk with me on the day, simply fill in the relevant section of the form and return it to me along with your registration fee. Better still, organize a group to take part and come along on the day!
If you don’t think you’ll be in a position to walk it with me, please don’t worry, you can still support the creamery project by making a donation. Simply complete the attached form and return it, along with your donation, in the reply paid envelope enclosed.
If you have any questions about the walk or the project, please contact me directly at pete@bothar.ie or telephone 061 41 41 42.
I really hope you can support me in some way.
