Covid-19 Update
I hope this message find you and your loved ones safe and well.
The current crisis has been a very unsettling time for so many.
Everyone has been affected in some way.
It feels surreal, yet it is all too real.
As a supporter of Bóthar, I wanted to take this opportunity to tell you that we are continuing to get help where it is possible to do so.
Bóthar is currently working with our project partners to ensure we can do what we can for those we are currently helping in the developing world. They are still relying on us for help at this uncertain time as they don’t have the same Government supports that we have in place here in Ireland.
I do fear for the spread of this disease in the communities we are working in.
It is hard enough to contain it here in the developing world, not to mind living in extreme poverty.
Can you imagine? It’s upsetting to think about.
I know our worlds have been turned upside down here. It is unimaginable to think what life will be like there.
One of the messages we have been listening to is "wash your hands". The people in the developing world need to follow the same rules as us to stop the spread of Covid-19, yet they are not in a position to do so, as some do not have access to clean running water.
Even in these uncertain times, I can tell you that we have pledged support to the communities we are working in and I will update you as time goes on when we know more about what we can do. In the meantime, here are the updates we have from our project countries.
