Bóthar visit to Áras an Uachtaráin
Bóthar was among many NGOs honoured recently with an invitation to send a party of 20 staff and supporters to a garden party hosted by President Michael D. Higgins and his wife Sabina in Áras an Uachtaráin. Over 400 guests attended and were warmly welcomed by the President and Mrs Higgins. The formal welcome was followed by refreshments and entertainment in the special marquee erected on the lawns. Later, the party was treated to a guided tour of the Áras.
For Bóthar, it was wonderful to be able to include seventeen supporters from around the country in the party, as well as CEO, Dave Moloney and staff members Jeremy Meehan and David Fenton. The necessary limit on numbers made it impossible to include so many other stalwart supporters, but we hope that there may be future occasions when we can demonstrate our gratitude to the many people who make the work of Bóthar possible.
The attached photos show some aspects of the day. Included at various points are the members of the party: Dave Moloney, James McCarrick, Jamie McCarrick, Fr. Felix Byrne, Catherine O’Toole, Frances Greene, Dan Martin, Breda O’Riordan, Tadhg Murphy, Dave Fenton, Thomas Blackburn, Marian Blackburn, Kathleen Boland, Mary Seery, Pat Allen, Helen Allen, Jeremy Meehan, Tom Byrne, Majella Byrne and Sarah Guihen.
